The Sarmiento train line resumed its normal activity at midnight, after its workers lifted the strike they held for several hours on Friday in protest of the detention of railway union leaders Rubén Sobrero and spokesman Leonardo Portorreal.
Sobrero and Portorreal were arrested, as they were both accused of taking parting in the incidents that happened in May, when several people set a Sarmiento train on fire.
Yesterday afternoon, the Labour Ministry ordered a mandatory conciliation valid for 5 working days over the conflict triggered by Sarmiento train line workers’ strike, which began after the detention of Sobrero and Portorreal.
Sobrero was accused of being part of an illegal organization linked to destruction of 22 train carriages in May.
