Defending counselors for two of the suspects investigated over the crime of 11-year-old Candela Rodríguez reported that results of the first DNA tests run on samples taken from the six detainees were negative. Likewise, two of the detainees have allegedly confessed to have participated in the kidnapping.
According to defending counselors Alberto Domínguez, and Matías Morla, whom represent suspects Espínola and Néstor Altamirano respectively, indicated that so far the first series of DNA tests run on arrested suspects are negative.
Likewise, sources revealed that two of the detainees allegedly confessed to have been involved in the planning of the abduction but denied to have murdered the infant. Furthermore, these detainees, whose names were not provided, could have also indicated a 25-year-old smuggler as the author of the crime. The name was not revealed as police forces are already searching for this perosn.
Rodríguez case kept the entire nation in a state of shock during the nine days she was held captive until her body was found by the side of a motorway in Villa Tesei, Senador Morón district. Signs of sexual abuse were found during the autopsy.
