President Cristina Fernández kicked off the second day of her three-day visit to Paris with the inauguration of a photographic exhibition about the Dakar Rally editions in Argentina at the countries’ Embassy in the French capital today.
The chief of state also signed an agreement to bring the MotoGP motorcycle tourney, the most important event of its kind, back to Argentina. The nation has already hosted the event back in 1999.
During the ceremony CFK remarked Argentina has one of the “best literacy rates of the world.” She also added Argentina was a different country than before “not only in human Rights issues and economy, but also regarding social inclusion.”
Both activities were held at the Argentine Embassy at 1 pm (Argentine time).The MotoGP is to be celebrated in Termas de Río Hondo, Province of Santiago del Estero, in 2013.
At the occasion CFK also inaugurated the exhibition “Dakar in Argentina” consisting of images of the automobile tourney held for the past three years in Argentina and Chile, and scheduled to be return next year.
Yesterday, CFK met with the relatives of Cassandra Bouvier, one of the two French tourist girls assassinated in the Province of Salta. On Wednesday, Cristina will be received at the Eliseo Palace by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and later she will attend the ceremony at the UNESCO building in which an award will be granted to the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo.
