Alfonsín promises to ‘end to indiscriminate spending and restore austerity’

Unión por el Desarrollo Social (UDESO) presidential candidate Ricardo Alfonsín assured that if he were to be elected, his government would “end indiscriminate spending and restore austerity.”

“After December 10th the Republic will be restored. No more superpowers, no more DNU emergency decrees, no more the current model of the Council of Magistrates and no more phony budgets,” he assured during his final campaign speech at the NH Hotel.

In that sense, the son of the late and former president Raúl Alfonsín said he will send dirty and corrupt politicians to jail, and warned that “any businessman found guilty of being an accomplice will also sent to prison.”

Alfonsín was accompanied by running mate Javier González Fraga, former Health minister and national lawmaker candidate Graciela Ocaña and former anti-corruption attorney Manuel Garrido, among others.
