Fellner warns there are ‘political and economical interests’ behind Jujuy land takeovers

Lower House head Luis Fellner warned that «there are political and economical interests» behind the takeover of lands in Jujuy province.

Fellner released a statement that the most recent takeover of lands “is done without sense nor justification. Now there is a new focus of the needs of Jujuy province residents of having a home.”

Fellner, who is running as Jujuy gubernatorial candidate for the Victory Front, praised Governor’s Walter Barrionuevo’s measure of allotting each Jujuy family that can prove their residence a plot of fiscal land. “That will quickly deactivate multiple conflict issues, among which are the real needs of people, but political and economical interests must be unveiled was well,” he said.

Fellner recalled that a few years ago, the local Peronist had tried to pass the same bill, but the Legislature didn’t pass it.

“Facing such a state of crisis, chaos, there can’t be different kind of announcements,” Feller added.

“There’s political well of supporting Jujuy but first we must put ourselves in order

“Those rational political parties, regardless of their political interests, will support (Jujuy) and those boundless parties that are taking advantage of this issue, must know this is a short lived weapon.”
