US dollar higher at 9.22 pesos; ‘blue’ up at 14.98

The US dollar rate ended slightly up at 9.22 pesos, half a cent higher than yesterday’s closing price in banks and agencies.

Meanwhile, the parallel exchange rate or «blue» dollar climbed three cents to 14.98 pesos according to ámbito.com, after climbing five cents yesterday.

This way, the gap between the «blue» and the official rate stands at 62.5 percent.

According to analists, the illegal rate is keeping close the 15-peso mark due to an increasing dollar demand ahead of the PASO primary elections.

The dollar for savings scheme, for instance, has registered dollar-buys for over 66 million, reaching over 276 million dollars during this month.

In the meantime, the Central Bank sold another 70 million dollars, following the 100 million dollars sold yesterday to keep the peso steady. The Central Bank has sold 545 million dollars during the last nine trading sessions.

In addition today, the stock exchange rate increased two cents at 13.30 pesos and the blue chip swap rate decreased eight cents to 13.26 pesos.
