The parallel dollar leaped 23 cents at the beginning of the week to 13.85 pesos, ámbito.com reported, markng its highest price in the last eight months following a 14-cent climb last week.
Meanwhile, the official rate closed this afternoon half a cent higher at 9.14 pesos in banks and foreign exchange agencies. The Central Bank intervened on the markets with the purchase of 80 million dollars.
Amid rumours of a further crackdown on the buying of dollars through the bluechip system, that rate dropped 13 cents to sell at 13.21 pesos. The stock market rate rose, climbing four cents to $13.04.
