PRO candidate for Buenos Aires governor María Eugenia Vidal has revealed that City legislator and leading peronist voice in the party Cristián Ritondo will partner her bid to take over from Daniel Scioli in this year’s polls for the provincial leadership.
Vidal’s announcement comes at a time when many of the leading hopefuls for the upcoming elections, both at national and provincial levels, are revealing the identity of running mates. Next Saturday marks the deadline for officialising formulas ahead of elections.
«I want to tell all Buenos Aires residents that my running mate will be Cristian Ritondo,» Vidal said via social network Twitter today.
«Together with Ritondo and Mauricio Macri’s team we will build an alternative for Buenos Aires people to live better.»
The next announcement expected from the PRO is who will be the vice on City mayor Mauricio Macri’s ticket for the presidency. Government secretary Marcos Peña is the favourite to receive Macri’s blessing to accompany him to the elections.
