The Justicialist Victory Front (FJV) has presented before the Santa Fe Electoral Court a request for the complete recount of every ballot cast in the province, following the technical tie which occurred on Sunday between Miguel Lifschitz, Miguel Del Sel and Omar Perotti for governor.
In the letter, the FJV requests «the recount of all the votes emitted to ensure the protection of popular will as the National Constitution demands.»
Santa Fe kirchnerites also asked for the «opening of the more than 7000 ballot boxes» used in Sunday’s polls, in a letter sent to the Court today.
Progressive Front candidate Miguel Lifschitz finished on top after the provisional count, just 2,128 ahead of PRO challenger Del Sel. The second-placed candidate, in turn, finished just over one point higher than Omar Perotti, the FJV hopeful.
Electoral Court head Roberto Falistocco explained that the body would today decide its stance with regards to the final count, taking into account the requests from the parties.
