The US dollar closed half a cent higher at 9.04 pesos in BA City banks and foreign exchange offices, following Tuesday’s walkout by anti-government unions that retrained operations in the market.
Meanwhile, the so called «blue» dollar ended steady at 12.62 pesos. This way, the gap between the official and the parallel rate stands at 39.6 percent.
In addition, the blue chip swap rate dropped five cents to 11.70 pesos and the stock exchange rate climbed 15 cents at 11.69 pesos.
The Central Bank bought 40 million dollars, totaling 280 million dollars since June 1st. Reserves hit 33.801 billion dollars, 11 million dollars more than on Tuesday.
