Interior and Transport Minister Florencio Randazzo today fostered the government’s theory that last night train accident in Temperley Southern district was “sabotage” and pointed at La Fraternidad engine drivers’ union.
“There isn’t the least doubt it was sabotage,” the minister told reporters this morning, blasting those “who oppose this transformation of the railway system.”
«I would like La Fraternidad leaders who called the strike to explain people what happened,” Randazzo stressed.
A train from General Roca railway last night crashed into a train engine in Temperley Southern locality leaving at least 60 people injured.
In a statement issued earlier, the Interior Ministry said investigators were still working and had not dismissed any hypothesis about the causes of the accident.
However, it said two red signals were violated, the first one at the station, adding despite that, the train set off.
Authorities suggested the incident ironically occurred at the same station where Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo was scheduled to show up today to present brand new train coaches.
