Hugo Moyano summons teamsters for June rally

CGT Azopardo leader Hugo Moyano will hold an important teamster rally at the Deportivo Español stadium on June 4th, days before the transport unions strike. Though not announced as a strike, the meeting will paralyze several services nationwide.
“Over 60 thousand comrades from all parts of the country will come,” union sources told ambito.com today, adding Pablo Moyano, Hugo’s son and teamster union leader, will be in charge of organizing the event.
The first unionists will arrive at around 8.30 am at the Deportivo Español facilities, in Parque Avellaneda neighborhood, Buenos Aires city. Hugo Moyano will deliver a speech at around 2 pm, and the meeting will finish at 4 pm.
Moyano said the event does not mean teamsters will go on strike on June 4th. However, several activities such as long distance transport, garbage recollection, and fuel and food transport will be negatively affected.
Sources said Moyano is expected to speak about wage negotiations, dismissing the 27 percent salary hike recommended by Economy Minister Axel Kicillof, and demanding a 35% increase, as well as the elimination of the income tax.
