Wall Street opens flat after retail sales

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Wall Street opened little changed on Tuesday as investors locked in profits after recent gains, but better-than-expected retail sales and a raised outlook from Best Buy (BBY.N) limited declines.

The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI) was down 6.36 points, or 0.06 percent, at 10,537.77. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index (.SPX) fell 1.16 points, or 0.10 percent, at 1,120.74. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) dipped 2.06 points, or 0.09 percent, at 2,283.65.

Best Buy, the electronics retailer, was up 6.9 percent at $37.03.
