The so called “blue” dollar closed five cents higher at 12.84 pesos, according to ambito.com. The «blue» had edged up to 12.89 earlier in the trading session, marking its highest value in more than a month, following yesterday’s 8-cent increase.
The illegal rate increased 11 cents during this week and 22 cents during this month.
Meanwhile, the official rate was half a cent higher today and closed at 8.895 pesos in banks and foreign exchange agencies. The gap between the «blue» and the official rate stands at 44.3 percent.
The Central Bank (BCRA) bought 40 million dollars amid an increase in currency liquidation by grain exporters, accumulating 180 million dollars in the week and making its international reserves reach 32,675 billion dollars. Reserves were also boosted by the 1.415 billion dollars that entered the BCRA following Tuesday’s Bonar 2014 bond sale.
In addition, the blue chip swap rate closed up by seven cents to 11.88 pesos today, and the stock exchange rate increased six cents to close at 11.83 pesos.
