The so called “blue” dollar traded eight cents higher to close at 12.79 pesos in the informal market, reversing an initial four-cent drop earlier in the trading session.
The «blue», which had already increased three cents yesterday, was boosted by the blue chip swap rate hike registered today: the blue chip went up by 19 cents to close at 11.88 pesos. In addition, the stock exchange rate dropped nine cents to 11.77 pesos.
Meanwhile, in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices, the US dollar closed half a cent higher at 8.89 pesos.
The Central Bank purchased US$20 million today, accumulating US$140 million in the week amid the liquidation of foreign currency in the agricultural sector. International reserves closed at US$31.427 billion.
