After ending nine cents higher last week and amid fresh controls by the Central Bank, the so called «blue» illegal dollar rate closed three cents down today at 12.68 pesos.
The blue-chip swap rate plunged 13 cents to 11.97 pesos.
According to ambito.com, the Central Bank top monetary authority has relaunched last week its controls on a group of foreign and local banks aimed at monitoring public bonds trading.
Macro, HSBC, Santander and BBVA are some of the banks who are being the target of these BCRA controls.
The US currency official rate, meanwhile, ended unchanged compared to last Friday’s closing price at 8.88 pesos in banks and foreign exchange agencies of Buenos Aires. The Central Bank purchased 10 million dollars in trading today.
