CFK receives Salta’s Urtubey after PASO election triumph

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner today met with Salta governor Juan Manuel Urtubey, the day after the re-election candidate scored a convincing victory in the province’s primary gubernatorial elections.

CFK received the Victory Front-aligned politician just after 7pm, alongside running mate, mayor of Salta capital Miguel Isa.

The encounter lasted around one hour, and was the only official activity carried out by the head of state on the first day of the week, after participating in the VII Summit of the Americas in Panamá on Saturday.

The Victory Front candidates obtained 47 percent of votes, against Juan Carlos Romero Sergio Massa’s ally, who got 33 percent. That result puts Urtubey in the driving seat to retain the governor’s seat for a third term when the province goes to the polls again in May.
