‘Blue’ dollar drops six cents to 12.39 pesos

Greenbacks in the informal market lost six cents to close at 12.39 pesos, following yesterday’s hike, the first after 11 sessions, in which the so called “blue” dollar climbed seven cents.

Meanwhile, in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices, the American currency closed steady at 8.855 pesos. Earlier in today’s trading session, it climbed half a cent.

With these variations, the gap between the official and the parallel rates stands below the 40 percent mark at 39.8%.

The blue-chip swap rate was gaining 10 cents at 11.95 pesos after plunging 28 cents yesterday as a result of a fall in the BA stock market. The stock exchange rate droped two cents and was also trading at 11.95 pesos.
