The so-called «blue» dollar which trades in the informal market has ended the first business session of the week seven cents lower at 12.89 pesos.
Meanwhile, the official rate of the US currency closed steady at 8.795 in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices today, after climbing 2.5 cents last week.
A greater entry of dollars into the local market allowed the Central Bank to adopt a strong purchasing presence. The entity bought US$190 million to boost international reserve levels, which on Friday had risen to US$31.37 billion.
The gap between the two rates shrank to 46.6 percent.
