The so called “blue” dollar rose 10 cents to 12.92 pesos today, although the parallel currency traded as high as 12.98 pesos early on, following Wednesday’s 6-cent hike.
The official US dollar closed unchanged in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices at 8.79 pesos, after nine consecutive hikes. The gap between both rates now stands at 47 percent.
The Central Bank sold 45 million dollars to control the rate.
The blue chip swap rate dropped five cents to close at 11.81 pesos, and the stock exchange rate went up five cents to 12.21 pesos.
