Parrilli: Ex spy Stiuso involved in ‘smuggling’

Intelligence Secretary Oscar Parrilli and his second-in-command Juan Martín Mena have held a press conference to announce the office they command was filing a complaint against ex spy master Antonio “Jaime” Stiuso on “smuggling” charges.

After describing the procedures by which Intelligence Secretariat officials are allowed to import merchandise under secret protocols following the 25,520 Intelligence Act, Parrilli revealed that 94 tons of unknown products have been “illegally” introduced in the country by the area conducted by Stiuso between 2013 and 2014.

“We found officials that provided us with documentation and officials who had eliminated the documentation. We turned to Customs to get that documentation (…) and reach the precise conclusion that from 2013 to 2014 67 imports have been requested accounting for 94 thousand kilos as smuggling because it was not destined to the Intelligence Secretariat,” Oscar Parrilli explained and went on to describe an incident he called a “gem.”

According to the secretary, the information provided by Immigration Department showed that Stiuso left the country last week to Uruguay in a truck that belongs to the Coast to Coast company, a firm that transported part of the smuggled products.

Involved in this “smuggling maneuver” are Antonio Horacio Stiuso along with Osvaldo Patricio y Nicolás Gastón Mercado. The complaint has been filed before Judge Rafael Caputo, facing a punishment of 4-10 years in prison.
