The US dollar increased half a cent and closed at 8.69 pesos in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices.
Meanwhile, the informal rate of the US currency, the so called «blue» dollar, continued its downward trend and fell five cents to close at 13.15 pesos today.
The gap between the two currencies currently stands at around 51 percent.
