Secretary General to the Presidency Aníbal Fernández referred to the February 18 march called by prosecutors to mark the one-month anniversary of Alberto Nisman’s death. He accused politicians, including PRO’s Mauricio Macri and Renewal Front’s Sergio Massa presidential hopefuls, of being opportunistic.
“They are huge opportunists who want to use the rally for their own benefit,” Fernández said to reporters at his arrival at the government house earlier today. However, the official said that “society sees through these things.”
Fernández said that he will not attend the march because of the “huge opportunists behind it” but he added that the prosecutors “have every right to demonstrate” and that members of the ruling Victory Front party may also attend the rally.
“The freedom we enjoy has been conquered by all Argentineans,” the official said. “A rally of this sort can be done precisely because we have all conquered this right.”
