Nisman’s safety deposit box searched, nothing found

A safety deposit box belonging to late AMIA investigator Alberto Nisman at the Ciudad bank was searched today on the order’s of judge Fabiana Palmaghini, and turned out to be completely empty.

The prosecutor’s office released a statement this afternoon confirming that the search had taken place, and had failed to yield new leads in the case. «On the request of prosecutor [Viviana] Fein and the order of judge Fabiana Pamaghini, secretary of the 45th prosecutor’s office Dr Bernardo Chirchella, court secretary Dr Sebastián Marasco and the mother of Nisman Sara de Garfunkel went to the Ciudad bank branch,» the missive confirms.

«It was established that the box did not contain anything inside. The procedure had as its objective to single out and take away any elements of interest for the investigation.»

The report also explains that «in the register of entries and exits for safety deposit box owners it is marked down that in the last days of January the mother of prosecutor Nisman had been in the area.»
