Brazil’s Rousseff accepts Petrobras President’s resignation

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has decided to accept the resignation presented by CEO of Petrobras Maria das Graças Silva Foster, and will name a new head for the state-run oil company.

Graças Foster had already presented her resignation in 2014, amid the corruption scandal that implicated Petrobras and threw the engineering and construction sector of the country into crisis.

Rousseff had decided to keep Graças Foster, but changed her decision as the negative results of Petrobras in the third trimester of 2014 were published.

According to local Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper, Graças Foster has been informed of the decision, but no new CEO has been named yet.

The news about Graças Foster impacted positively on Petrobras stocks in the Sao Paulo stock market.
