State Prosecutor Viviana Fein has revealed AMIA Special Prosecutor Alberto Nisman did not bring forward his return from his Europe family vacation, as he booked his ticket to Argentina in December 2014.
Nisman interrupted the sweet fifteen celebration of one of his daughters in Europe and came back to Buenos Aires on January 12, in order to file his controversial accusation over a supposed impunity cover-up in the AMIA case.
“As regards whether Dr Nisman returned suddenly [to Argentina] buying a ticket form Madrid: no, Dr Nisman bought his return ticket from Buenos Aires on December 31. He did not change his ticket from Madrid,” State Prosecutor Fein told reporters today.
Fein added Nisman did not leave his daughter alone in the Madrid airport when he returned to the South American country.
“He wanted to return with one of his daughters, but the couple [Nisman and his former wife] decided the child would stay in Madrid.”
Meanwhile, Fein informed the security cameras of the Le Parc building where Nisman lived are being analyzed, and highlighted the entrance register of the building presents “serious irregularities”.
She also said the three policemen that where separated from their positions, officers Armando Niz, Luis Miño and Rubén Benítez, are not yet legally implicated in the case and where just questioned on administrative irregularities.
Fein also assured she will not yet ask Diego Lagomarsino, the man who handed Alberto Nisman the gun that presumably killed him, for questioning.
