‘Blue’ dollar climbs 11 cents to 13.70 pesos

The informal rate of the US currency, the so called «blue» dollar, advanced 11 cents to 13.70 pesos today. Last week the parallel rate fell 18 cents, amid tight government control in the illegal market.

Meanwhile, the blue-chip swap rate climbed eight cents to 12.49 pesos.

The US dollar was also up, closing one cent higher at 8.62 pesos at the beginning of the week in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices. Trading was light due to the public holiday for Martin Luther King day in United States.

The gap between the formal and informal rate was at 59%.
