Carrascosa to remain in prison, court rejects habeas corpus

An appeals court has rejected a second habeas corpus petition issued by the legal defence of Carlos Carrascosa, widow of María Marta Belsunce who was shot to death in the head in 2002.

Carrascosa will remain in prison following the votes of judges Ernesto García Hamilton and Dulio Cámpora of the San Isidro Appeals and Guarantees Tribunal who denied his release. Same ruling was dictated earlier this month by a San Isidro oral tribunal.

With the Supreme Court ordering to revise the Carlos Carrascosa’s sentence, the strategy of the widow will now turn to the 4th courtroom of the Buenos Aires province Cassation Tribunal.
