Economy Minister Axel Kicillof announced that between December 10 and 12, the government will offer early payment of Boden 2015 bonds, which matures next October. The official said the decision seeks to tackle “speculative, propaganda maneouvres” by vulture funds against Argentina.
“Bondholders with bonds maturing next year will be able to receive payment for them between December 10 and 12,” Kicillof announced in a press conference today. He explained that the government will pay “a price similar to the market price.”
The minister added that bondholders will receive usd97 for each usd100 bond if they decide to receive payment now or they can chose to wait until October, when they will be paid usd107. He also said that bondholders can also chose to exchange their Boden 2015 for Bonar 2024 bonds.
“The goal of this decision is to put an end to all speculation, to continue with the debt reduction scheme, and to bring certainty,” Kicillof stated.
