Poisoned teacher now targeted in alleged abuse cases

After denouncing a student had allegedly tried to poison him by putting cockroach killer liquid inside his water bottle, teacher Miguel Ángel Porro is being now targeted by accusations saying he assaulted students in the past.

Yesterday, Mr. Porro held a press conference briefing the press on how one of his students at a public school in the Buenos Aires province locality of Villa Ballester where he gives classes had allegedly tried to poison him.

However, a revelation by former student of the Dramatic Art School where she was also the head of the Students Center Mariana Pizarro has opened new windows in the case.

“He was violent, libidinous and threatening. They took him away (from our class) but he was sent to a different area because he was friends with the headmaster. When I saw that guy in television I went in despair, I started shaking because I could not believe that he would be still teaching,” Mariana told media today adding that Mr. Porro would always tell his students how proud he was of a role he played in the “La noche de los lápices” movie – “The night of the pencils” in English, a film based on the real kidnapping and killing of students in the BA province capital city of La Plata during Argentina’s 1976-1983 civil-military dictatorship.

In the movie, he played an officer who abuses María Clara Ciocchini, one of the students who remains disappeared.

“He was bragging about the scene he had played as a military who abuses María Clara Ciocchini. He told us he had enjoyed doing it,” Ms. Pizarro said.

“This Mr. is very violent, I left his classes feeling sick to my stomach, wanting to throw up, feeling dirty. I think that all the people who were victims (of him) have to come out and tell what happened. It is very important to me that he is not dead and that he responds to Justice for the crimes he has committed,” she assured.

“Porro took young woman to his place, in the car, where he sexually stimulated them, locked them up and told them that they were actually enjoying it but that they were not allowing themselves to enjoy, that they would be better actresses when they liberated themselves. 19 years ago, justice was not the same as today, abuse and gender violence cases did not receive so much importance.”
