Buenos Aires City Cabinet Chief Horacio Rodríguez Larreta has made it clear that despite her leaving UNEN-Broad Front, lawmaker Elisa Carrió is not a member of PRO party. “She is not joining PRO,” he stated.
The City official said that the mayor and PRO leader Mauricio Macri “has never met with Carrió” to discuss a political alliance. “We are not bringing Carrió in, she is not joining PRO,” Rodríguez Larreta stressed.
“Mauricio (Macri) has never met with her, has never sat for coffee with her. Carrió has nothing to do with PRO today,” he reiterated in an interview with La Red radio.
Before her controversial departure from the centre-left coalition, Carrió had caused infighting in the UNEN-Broad Front by opening the door to an electoral alliance with centre-right PRO party.
Rodríguez Larreta pointed out that Carrió is still “a part of UNEN” because “her party (Civic Coalition) is a part of UNEN, even though she is not included in the photo of the presidential candidates.”
