‘Blue’ dollar climbs 53 cents to 13.68 pesos

The informal rate of the US currency climbed 53 cents to close at 13.68 pesos today, amid new controls over illegal exchange houses, which pushed transactions down.

The so-called «blue» dollar continues to regain ground, after a 45-cent plunge at the beggining of the week. Yesterday, it traded 50 cents higher.
The US dollar ended steady at 8.52 pesos in Buenos Aires City foreign exchange houses, as banks are closed to public due to a 48-hour strike. The gap between the «blue» and the official rate is at 60.5%

Meanwhile, the blue-chip swap rate lost 10 cents to close at 12.45 pesos, while the stock exchange rate fell 17 cents to 12.53 pesos.
