RR Donnelley directors indicted

The directors of the local branch of US printing giant RR Donelley have been indicted after being accused of carrying out a “fraudulent” bankruptcy operation by the AFIP tax bureau.
AFIP has pushed for an investigation against the firm, which filed for bankruptcy on August 4 claiming it was facing a “crisis” that government officials say is not evident in its balance sheets.
Prosecutor Patricio Evers, who carry out the criminal proceedings, has asked the tax bureau to deliver asset information from RR Donnelley’s sworn affidavits to determine its financial situation.
On August 9, AFIP went to court to demand that the bankruptcy was “fraudulent”, saying the company was solvent at the time it was filed –with net assets of 38.5 million pesos and up to u$s 1.1. billion pending to be refunded by AFIP- and to file a lawsuit against the company’s top executives.
