The head of the pro-government CGT splinter Antonio Caló has praised opposition CGT leader Hugo Moyano for “understanding” this is not “the right time” to strike, and urged both CGT splinters to dialogue with each other.
“If our comrades understood this is not the right time for a strike, I congratulate them,” the Metallurgical Workers’ Union (UOM) head told reporters today, after the Azopardo faction of the CGT led by Moyano yesterday resolved to stay «on alert», but ruled out further industrial action or protests for the immediate future.
Caló also highlighted the necessity of “defending workers stability” and hopped both CGT’s can reunite “someday”.
“We dialogue every day with the government, as that is the right thing to do. We [together with Moyano’s CGT] will meet someday,” he said.
