AFIP: September tax revenue rises to $98.72bn

The Federal Public Incomes Administration (AFIP) revenue agency has revealed that it collected a total of 98.719 billion pesos in taxes across the month of September, an increase of 37.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

Yesterday, president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner had announced similar figures while speaking via national broadcast, before the AFIP confirmed the numbers during today’s press conference headed by agency head Ricardo Echegaray and Treasury secretary Juan Carlos Pezoa.

«September is not a month of high revenues, but we can consider this a very good collection,» Echegaray asserted to reporters.

The AFIP chief added that the biggest tax contributions came from income taxes, value-added-tax and Employers’ contributions.
