INDEC: Recession comes to end with 0.9% growth

The National Statistics and Census Institute (INDEC) has asserted that the Argentine economy grew 0.9 percent in the second quarter of 2014 compared to the previous three month period, overturning a trend of two consecutive quarters of negative growth.

The state statistics bureau also revised interannual figures for the first quarter of 2014, reporting 0.3 percent growth in place of a previous fall of 0.2 percent.

Economy activity compared to the second quarter of 2013, meanwhile, remained almost unchanged in April, May and June of the current year.
