Capitanich slams businessmen, bankers for ‘seeking to evade gov’t control, supervision’

Cabinet chief Jorge Capitanich accused “some businessmen and bankers” of «seeking to evade the government’s control and supervision, jeopardizing the quality of life of the Argentine people.”
The official rejected claims of currency restrictions in import/export operations and said that “the state must control and that is what companies do not want, because they want a parallel financial system, to evade the rules.”
Capitanich aimed at multinational companies saying that since “they are not able to evade rules in their home countries, they seek to evade them in Argentina and other countries.”
“Importers have no need to use the parallel market,” he added.
He reiterated his claims against “constant strategies to revile the government” and said that the country is subject to “speculative manouvres” despite the optimistic economic outlook.
