After the informal rate advanced 27 cents yesterday, following a week of sharp climbs, cabinet chief Jorge Capitanich aimed at speculators and stressed that the so called “blue” dollar “cannot be taken as a reference for any transaction because it does not relate to (the country’s) macroeconomic perspectives.”
The chief of ministers linked the parallel rate rising path to speculative manoeuvres, which he said “do not relate to any real perspectives on the evolution of macroeconomic conditions” and pointed out that Argentina’s economic outlook is “predictable,” in an attempt to disencourage speculation.
Capitanich spoke about the Central Bank’s reserves and assured that «the conditions to meet the demands exist» and said that the government plans to continue to honour its debt restructuring obligations in 2015.
