Volkswagen Argentina will lift suspensions for its workers in its plant in Córdoba province and it plans to manufacture 90,000 gearboxes to be exported to China, the provincial head of SMATA Mechanics Union Omar Dragún announced.
“After so much effort the first 90,000 gearboxes from plant A and B have been approved,” Dragún said and explained that the operation entails lifting suspensions on workers for the rest of the year. “It opens an important opportunity (for the industry),” he added.
“We will see how we turn suspensions into work,” the unionist said and expected the gearboxes production to begin “practically immediately.”
