Libertad training ship joins search mission for shipwrecked Argentines

The Argentine government has announced that the Libertad training ship will take part in the ongoing search for four Argentines who are believed to have shipwrecked while navigating in Brazilian seas last month.
Through an official press communiqué released earlier today, the Defense Ministry in charge of Agustín Rossi announced he instructed the Army to join and look for the four members of “Tunante II” crew.
“The [Libertad] ship sailed from Rio de Janeiro heading to Río Gallegos as part of its 44th ‘instruction journey’,” the press release said.
Navy corvettes ARA Gómez Roca and Rosales, and P3 Orión exploration aircraft will team up with several Brazilian ships who are currently looking for survivors.
Some considered the sailboat might be adrift towards to Africa as result of the strong water streams. Argentine optician Jorge Benozzi and three other people were on board when their sailing boat disappeared on August 26 after a squall registered in that area.
Brazil’s Sea Coordination Centre informed the mission involved 150 flight hours and 47.000 km square of sea patrols, across 330 miles northeast Río Grande Do Sul.
