CFK announces LatAm’s tallest building to be built in Demarchi Island

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has addressed the country in a national broadcast to announce the enactment of the pension’s moratorium bill, the construction of 22 new Procrear housing developments across the country and the building of Latin America’s tallest skyscraper on Demarchi Island.

The pension’s moratorium will allow pensioners indebted in their social security payments to regularize their situation.

“This will mean the real universalization of the pension system, and a boost to Argentine economy through increased demand,” said the President from Government House.

“Some still don’t forgive us for recovering the pensions system,” added Ms Kirchner, while praising kirchnerite “social inclusion” against the “lost decade” of the 1990’s.

CFK then announced the creation of 22 new Procrear housing programs across the country, eight of which will start inscription tomorrow until September 29.

People can access the Procrear website in order to and enter the lottery to win access to credit for residences. “An idea of my own,” the President said while claiming to have invented the most “honest and transparent social plan distribution system” with the Procrear lottery.

Procrear program has started the construction of 125,000 houses and will add 4,500 more with the 22 new plans announced today.

Besides the Procrear housing announcement and pension moratorium, CFK revealed the Demarchi Island project has been awarded after two years to the Riva construction company.

Construction of the Audiovisual Centre will start in November and will count with the prospect to build the tallest skyscraper in Latin America and a new arena earmarked for concerts and sports games.

The building will be 360 metres high, almost the same high as the Empire State building in New York.

The development of the area will cost 2,500 million pesos and will be completed in five years.
