Federal judge María Servini de Cubría has re-filed the record on president of the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo Estela de Carlotto’s grandson Ignacio Guido Montoya Carlotto, and included the couple that raised him from birth in the list of those under investigation.
Neither Carlotto nor Ignacio Guido wanted to investigate Clemente Hurban and Juana María Rodríguez, the couple from Olavarría who raised the recently recovered grandson from birth, arguing they were not aware Ignacio Guido was son of disappeared militants during the last dictatorship.
The file was renamed “Hurban Clemente, Rodríguez Juana María, Sacher Julio Luis Alberto on appropriation of minor under 10 years old, suppression of civil state. Plaintiff: Barnes de Carlotto Enriqueta Estela, victim: Hurban Ignacio,” by the judge.
Besides Hurban and Rodríguez, the doctor who signed Ignacio Guido’s false birth certificate, Julio Alberto Sacher, is named on the record.
The file referred previously to Federico Antonio Minicucci, a former military official who Carlotto thought was involved in her grandson’s appropriation. His indictment in the case was dismissed.
The inclusion occurs amid jurisdiction questionings in the case. Late La Plata federal judge Manuel Blanco claimed competence over De Cubría saying the appropriation happened in La Plata, as Laura Carlotto, Ignacio Guido’s biological mother, was held in the clandestine detention centre known as La Cacha located in Buenos Aires province capital.
Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo had supported Blanco’s claims, and De Cubría accused them of «obstructing investigation», as she wanted to hear prosecutor Carlos Stornelli’s opinion on the matter first. However, De Cubría has stated she would be willing to cede the case to La Plata.
