Pope Francis ‘moved’ by Guido Carlotto’s story

Monsignor Guillermo Karcher – a close assistant of the pontiff who usually discusses with him news about Argentina – confirmed today the Argentine pope was “thrilled” about the finding of Estela de Carlotto’s grandson.

Karcher spoke with Argentina’s Télam state-run news agency and hoped «God continue to reward the perseverance in love, that feeds and strengthens the spirit of national reconciliation and makes true what the Song of Songs predicts: love is strongest than death.”

In one of his weekly public audiences in the Vatican, Argentina’s Jorge Bergoglio received the head of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo organization in April last year.

They met soon after Bergoglio was elected to lead the Roman Catholic Church with Estela de Carlotto handing in to the pope a folder with files of the children the human rights organization is still looking for.

Carlotto also gave the pontiff a letter requesting him to Demand members of the Catholic Church and its parishioners to provide information they might have about the «whereabouts” of the “disappeared grandsons and granddaughters.”
