Rubén López, son of Jorge Julio López, a key witness in the case against repressor Miguel Etchecolatz who remains missing since 2006, said the recovery of Estela de Carlotto’s grandson gave him “strength to keep going”.
“These things give us strength to keep going. We have been fighting following the example of Grandmothers and Mothers of Plaza de Mayo. They give us the strength and energy we need,” López said.
He expressed he still hopes to find his father, despite it has been almost eight years since he disappeared, a day before the sentence against Etchecolatz on charges of crimes against humanity was delivered. “It is very nice to have a little glimpse of hope with the finding of Estela’s grandson,” he said in an interview with local radio.
