Greenbacks in the informal market jumped ten cents to 12.10 pesos today with traders waiting for news about negotiations between Argentina and bondholders in New York.
In Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices, the American currency traded unchanged at 8.17 pesos.
Yesterday, the Central Bank was forced to buy u$s70 million as grain exporters began to sell off stocks taking the US dollar official rate more than half a cent lower.
Grain exporters have sold off u$ 553.7 million over the past week, a hike of 23.8 percent compared to the same period year, following a report by the Oil Industry Chamber (CIARA) and the Cereal Exporters Center (CEC).
Meanwhile, the blue-chip swap exchange rate went up to 10.12 pesos and the stock exchange rate climbed to 10.92 pesos.
