‘Blue’ dollar climbs to 12 pesos, US dollar steady at 8.17 pesos

The so-called “blue” dollar rises by ten cents to 12 pesos today in the parallel market, while the US dollar trades unchanged at Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices at 8.17 pesos.

Last week the US dollar hiked two cents, and the Central Bank piled up reserves. On Friday, grain exporters took advantage of the upward trend to sell off, pushing down the US dollar, then the Central Bank bought 30 million dollars to avoid a fall.

Grain exporters sold off over 553 million dollars in the past week.

Meanwhile, the blue-chip swap exchange rate climbs five cents to 9.93 pesos, while the stock exchange rate rise up to 11 pesos.
