Brazilian coach Felipe Scolari said the Verdeamarelha was not inferior compared to the German side up to the first goal, after which the home team “panicked” and broke its defensive order.
“Felipao” stated the Brazilians “lost many chances” and made a lot of mistakes in their 7-1 loss against the Teutons, and also assured no one could have predicted the astonishing result, even the Germans.
“I’m sorry we couldn’t make it to the final match,” Scolari said while taking full responsibility in the defeat during a press conference after the match.
“We all lost, but I’m the main responsible.”
The Brazilian coach praised the German game and highlighted the Europeans have been training for this World Cup since the Euro 2008.
“We still have one match left and we have to work to make the best of it,” Scolari concluded.
