With only a few operations registered in the parallel market due mainly to a 24-hour strike by bank workers affecting the service nationwide, the so called “blue” dollar climbed five cents to close at 11.90 pesos for buyers and 12 pesos for sellers.
Today’s walkout was having a full impact on the official market with greenbacks remaining at 8.11 pesos (buying price) and 8.16 pesos (selling price).
Meanwhile, grain exporters sold off u$s 758.47 million over the past week, a 60 percent more than they did in the same period last year, reaching u$s13.8 billion in the first semester of 2014, an increase of 4.5 percent.
