Capitanich: ‘Equitable treatment cannot be violated by any judge’

Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich reiterated the government’s claim for “fair and equitable conditions for 100% of bondholders”, referring to US Judge Thomas Griesa ruling ordering Argentina full payment to the so-called vulture funds. The Kirchnerite official stressed that “equitable treatment cannot be violated by any judge”.

“The world should be supportive of Argentina,” Capitanich said in his daily press briefing at Government House. He called for a “democratization of economic and financial international decisions”. He explained that it entails “equitable treatment, which cannot be violated by any judge in the world”.

The Kirchnerite official also called for “conditions that allow Argentina to keep complying” with its debt restructuring process.

Capitanich also pointed out that there are “hidden interests” that seek to “take over Argentina’s real and financial assets” and pledged the government’s commitment to the unrestricted defence of the country’s strategic assets.
