The US dollar closed steady in banks and exchange offices in Buenos Aires City at 8.15 pesos, while the so called ‘blue dollar’ soared in value, trading 20 cents higher at 11.85 pesos.
The parallel currency was forced up by increased movement in the ‘stock market’ dollar, which jumped a full 36 cents to sell at 11.46 pesos. The movement is related to the judicial reverse suffered by Argentina in the US Supreme Court today, which led investors to sell bonds and purchase the US currency.
